Academic Essays

Writing an essay is like driving a car: it seems hard at first, but it becomes easy. How? With a good instructor.

I guide students through the journey:

  1. Select the destination: What’s the topic?
  2. Find the landmarks: What ideas come forward?
  3. Draw the routes: What are the key passages? What do they mean? How do they mean what they mean?

We map it all out. This is the outline of the essay.

Then, I “write” along with the student. I point out the pitfalls and teach all the tricks so that—gasp—the student may actually enjoy the ride! Writing doesn’t need to be hard.

Students of all ages are welcome. Contact me to book a session.
