At the same time, he helped me get into some of the best boarding schools in America. During my application program, Justin helped me with everything from revising my essays to helping me study for the SSAT. Ultimately, I received a perfect score on the SSAT and was accepted to Exeter, Choate, Hotchkiss, Cate, and Thacher, each with an acceptance rate of about 10%. This would have been impossible without Justin.
Before working with him, I was a careless and inadequate writer. Justin taught me how to organize my ideas and present them in a coherent fashion. Not only did this help me become a proficient writer in high-school English class, but it equipped me to succeed in college. Now, I use the skills he taught me in biology lab reports, poetry essays, and economic research papers. I’ve even made the dean’s list!
He was so welcoming hearing my ideas. At the same time, he diagnosed weak points in his thoughtful critiques that allowed me to drastically improve my writing. The final result was a poignant statement, something that felt vulnerable and personal, and ultimately what helped me get into U.C. Berkeley!
Now, I am succeeding at a top university thanks to the skills he has taught me. I couldn't have done it without Justin!
With the skills and knowledge I gained from working with Justin, I was able to score a 1550 on the SAT and gain admission to UC Berkeley, feats that freshman me never would have believed possible. I could not recommend a stronger tutor!
Justin is a very patient tutor who is able to explain the same idea in multiple ways. His explanations are logical, and he is attentive to the way his students think in order to explain concepts in a way that they will understand. His guidance on how to think about math problems or reading questions has stayed with me throughout my college experience. I could not recommend him more!
I can vouch that Justin is very friendly, knowledgeable, and open-minded. Even after over three years, I still remember what he taught me, whether it be writing coherent essays, grammar, math, or lessons on life.
I am very lucky to have been able to learn from him. I'll carry his lessons with me for the rest of my life.
