Application essays allow students to convey who they are and what they want. I help them do this authentically and effectively. For instance, I helped one student, a violist, write her essay as if it were a symphony: three experiences as three “movements” with their own titles, tempi, and moods. Stanford seemed to like her tune.
Typically, I begin working with students the summer before 8th grade (secondary-school applications) or 12th grade (college applications). The benefits? Less stress during the school year, time to write truly phenomenal essays, and a long-term relationship that allows me to see students for who they really are. I help them create a writing schedule, check in with them regularly, and offer out-of-session essay reviews for a reduced fee.
